STUDIO LUHTALA is a Los Angeles–based studio offering services across architecture, interiors, and custom furniture.

Established in 2020, the studio embraces a collaborative, team-driven approach—designing, refining, and executing with care and intention. Each project is rooted in a deep understanding of history, context, theory, and composition. But it is the studio’s unique balance of rigor and playfulness that ultimately brings its spaces to life.

Founder Sarah Luhtala draws inspiration from a lifetime of extensive travel. Her work captures the quiet sophistication of her birthplace, Paris, while embracing the relaxed ease of her Northern California roots. With degrees in both Fine Arts and Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD), Sarah brings a thoughtful integration of art and architecture to her practice.

Sarah’s diverse background spans high-profile design firms in New York and Los Angeles—including Jeffrey Beers International and Studio Shamshiri—as well as leadership roles in hospitality development with André Balazs Properties and The Kor Group.
